World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done by any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stats and provide extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the key things that keeps Link protected from injury in all situations. While it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in different ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
Armour is designed to protect people or animals from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or a variety of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, the majority of armour was made from fabric or leather, but metal protections were also employed particularly for military purposes like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection, but requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. You should only apply the most powerful upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have all the components needed to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you need in many places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. These are usually marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol. They can be found in great quantities as you progress through. They could appear randomly, but there is a possibility that getting certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.
It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade is different however, it's the same across all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost, which will shield you from all forms of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them truly unique. These upgrades can increase damage or alter the performance of the weapon to suit your build. They can also unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon must be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons only take one upgrade at a time.
There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies or purchased from vendors. Upgrade components are a mix of ingredients that you are able to put into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items to earn an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and can be used to enhance the stats of a base weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. They can be found from enemies dropped in the open world, purchased from certain merchants, or obtained through drops during combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an upgrade.
It's important to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, then items that you won't need to replace in the near future. Upgrade item upgrade , and then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands when you are planning to play in a melee-based build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others depending on your playstyle. Armour is no different, with some reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can provide additional benefits.
A magical item is an item with special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be shields, armors or cloaks as well as potions. They could also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Some of these items are telepathic.
Most magic items can enhance their capabilities. This can make them more useful to players, or could help them conquer a particularly challenging encounter. An infused weapon might provide bonuses to damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is especially useful for those who have reached the point where they are likely to encounter a particular type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring infused with magic could grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or cut (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character gets another long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone who wants to get rid of the expense and hassle of buying shields.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling an index that is based on the number Intelligence points used.
Other enchanted items might let the user change their appearance, or even create an entirely new appearance. They can be especially useful for characters who have had to leave their homes, or who are in a location where they may not be welcome. An enchanted item might give them an invisible effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fit into the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have a passive effect which players can activate while using them. However, some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating a skill.
The Flashlight is the most common utility item. It is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section, while others are unlockable through research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also unlock some more powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness.
The majority of utilitarian items give the player a navigational advantage or increase the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, crafted by an Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other utility items can be used by the player to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single accessory item to start the campaign. An additional slot is available after completing certain research, engineering or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
